The OnePlus phone packs a powerful mid-range Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC and will get 4 years of Android OS upgrades as well.

Launch Date and Initial Impressions:

OnePlus officially unveiled the Nord 4 on July 16, 2024. The smartphone has generated significant buzz, particularly for its promise of delivering flagship-level performance at a mid-range price point. Key highlights include a metal unibody design, powered by OnePlus Intelligence and AI, and a focus on speed and smoothness.

Key Specifications: A Closer Look

The OnePlus Nord 4 boasts an impressive set of specifications:

Design and Build Quality:

One of the standout features of the Nord 4 is its metal unibody construction. This not only adds a premium feel but also contributes to durability. The device promises a sleek and modern design, likely appealing to a wide range of users.

Performance and Software:

With the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 at its core, the Nord 4 is expected to deliver fluid performance. OnePlus’ OxygenOS, based on Android 14, provides a clean and efficient user interface. The integration of OnePlus Intelligence and AI should further optimize the device’s performance and user experience over time.

Camera Capabilities:

While OnePlus has typically impressed with its cameras in the past, the Nord 4 is on the back foot out of the gate thanks to small camera sensors. The primary camera is a 50MP LYTIA 600 sensor with a 1/1.95-inch size, and the ultra-wide camera with its tiny 1/4-inch sensor size and 8MP resolution is even less promising.

Main: 50MP, 1/1.95-inch sensor; f/1.8 26mm lens with OIS and autofocus.

Ultra-wide: 8MP, 1/4-inch sensor; f/2.2 16mm fixed-focus lens.

Front: 16MP, 1/3-inch sensor; f/2.4 24mm lens with autofocus.

Battery Life and Charging:

The 5500mAh battery paired with 100W fast charging is a promising combination for all-day usage and quick top-ups. Users can look forward to extended battery life and minimal downtime.
